A freezer is a purchase you will use long after the excitement of delivery. The right one holds what you regularly buy, fits where you want it and works with a realistic power plan. For buyers looking specifically for a Hisense inverter freezer, CDcare lists two useful starting points: the 249L FC340SHI and the 297L FC390SHI.

02 / The details

What “inverter freezer” actually means

Inverter technology refers to the compressor’s drive and control: it can vary its operation according to cooling demand. It is intended to provide more controlled operation than simply treating cooling as a fixed on/off load. Hisense describes variable motor-speed control in its explanation of inverter technology.

It does not mean the freezer contains a battery or that it can keep actively cooling when the electricity is off. It also does not prove compatibility with every external inverter, solar installation or portable power station. Those are separate electrical systems that must be sized for the appliance.

Energy use depends on the exact freezer, temperature setting, room conditions, door openings and what you put inside. We have not verified an annual energy label or a controlled comparison for these two Nigerian models, so this guide does not attach a percentage saving or a daily electricity cost to them.

249L versus 297L: what changes?

The 297L model gives you 48 litres more listed capacity than the 249L model—approximately 19% more. That is a capacity comparison, not a promise of 19% more usable room for every type of food or packaging.

Consider your normal restocking cycle. If you mostly store household portions and space is tight, begin with the 249L model. If you regularly buy in larger batches, compare the 297L model and how you would divide its contents. A small food business should also confirm that the product and warranty suit its intended commercial use.

Before paying more for extra capacity, picture how you will reach the bottom and organise smaller items. Baskets and labelled containers can make storage more useful. Check the supplied accessories on the exact listing rather than assuming every model has the same internal layout.

Measure the footprint and the route into your home

CDcare’s 249L listing records dimensions of 1002mm wide × 597mm deep × 842mm high. Its 297L listing records 1114mm wide × 630mm deep × 847mm high. These are catalogue dimensions; confirm the exact unit and packaging dimensions before delivery.

On those figures, the larger model needs about 11.2cm more width and 3.3cm more depth. That is before allowing for ventilation, the handle and an open lid. A space that just fits the closed cabinet is not necessarily a suitable installation space.

Measure the narrowest doorway and any turn in the route from the delivery point. Leave the clearance required in the supplied manual and make sure the lid can open comfortably. Confirm the floor is suitable and the power connection is accessible. Follow the manufacturer’s transport and first-start instructions for the delivered model.

  • Cabinet space: width, depth and height.
  • Working space: lid opening, ventilation and access to baskets.
  • Delivery route: doorways, stairs, corners and packaging.
  • Power location: suitable socket and model-specific electrical requirements.

Plan for power using the exact appliance

The 249L catalogue record lists 120W. That is not a guaranteed constant draw, a startup rating, or proof that any power station rated above 120W will operate it. Compressor starting behaviour and the power source’s supported output matter too.

Ask for the appliance’s rating plate and, where needed, measured startup requirements. Compare these with the external inverter’s continuous output, surge capability, voltage and waveform requirements. Include other appliances that will run at the same time.

For battery runtime, use realistic energy consumption over time rather than multiplying one label wattage by an arbitrary number of hours. The compressor does not necessarily draw the same power continuously. A suitably qualified installer can size the complete system against the actual appliances.

A claim that a freezer “retains ice” is not a guarantee of food safety during an outage. Conditions and contents differ. Use the supplied manual’s storage guidance and check temperatures when power has been interrupted.

06 / The details

Inverter does not mean frost-free

The FC390SHI catalogue record specifies manual defrosting. Inverter control and defrosting are different features. Make time for the cleaning and defrosting procedure in the manual, and do not infer that an inverter model eliminates this task.

Check the lid seal, keep the required ventilation space clear and avoid blocking access with tightly packed storage around the cabinet. Ask about the written warranty and the claims process before payment. A warranty claim advertised for another country or another seller is not automatically part of your CDcare order.

07 / The details

Choose the model first, then the payment plan

Compare the current full prices above, the available space and the features you need. Open the exact FC340SHI or FC390SHI product link to check Pay Once and any available Pay Small Small plans.

Where installment plans are offered, review the schedule, total payable amount, delivery milestone and verification requirements. Delivery depends on the agreed milestone, verification and account standing. Delivery and selected extras are additional; an installment amount is not the full product price.

Before you decide

Your questions, answered.

Is FC340SHI a 340-litre freezer?

No. The CDcare listing used here records 249L. Likewise, FC390SHI is listed as 297L. Use the capacity field and exact model specification, not the digits in the model name.

Are FC390SH and FC390SHI the same freezer?

They are separate catalogue entries. This guide identifies FC390SHI as the inverter model. Confirm the complete model number on your selected listing and delivered unit.

Can I run either freezer on Itel Power Tank?

This guide does not certify that combination. The freezer’s running and startup requirements must be checked against the exact Power Tank output specifications, alongside any other connected load.

Does a larger inverter freezer always use more electricity?

Capacity alone is not enough to answer that. Compare the exact models’ energy information and usage conditions. We have not published an unverified consumption ranking.
